The
main objective today was to ride though the Flaming Gorge.
This area, partly in Utah and partly in Wyoming, is formed by large
sharp canyons, with red sandstone cliffs in each of the canyons.
The road is maybe 500 feet higher than the reservoir, winding along
high mountainsides covered with pines - very pretty.
Although this area is very impressive to the eye, a camera doesn't
pick up enough detail.
Then
we found another mountain range to ride over. Darn, someone keeps putting
mountain ranges in our way, and we just have to grin and ride them.
This one was the Wind River Range, getting into Wyoming.
Wide sweeping vistas, reasonably green, and great for the soul.
At the end is Thermopolis, a nice little town where we stayed.
The accompanying photo shows the Wyoming love of the old Cowboy,
and the new Gold Wing cowboy.
